Grotto Canyon This is the happy "A Team" (minus Ed who was home sick) ... on our drive out to Grotto Canyon, I told them our main objective for the day was to have pie, ice cream and coffee at "The Chief" before they closed at 3:00pm. ... this put smiles on their faces. Unfortunately, I told them around 12:00 that we would have to cancel our reservations at "The Chief" because we had not reached the end of the Grotto Canyon and there was no way we were going to get back to the car by 2:00pm. So we changed our objective ... "reach the end of the canyon and have a 'road side coffee' at the gas station in Exshaw" (this did not generate a lot of smiles). Our first leisurely Spring hike turned out to be 7 hours long ... we left parking lot at 9:00am arrived back at the car at 4:00pm. ... no breaks and only 15 minutes for lunch.
